Over recent years, we have established structures with great personal and often voluntary commitment to enable the participation of prospective and current students, artists, and academics with a history of flight.<\/p>\r\n<p>These structures, established with third-party funding, are now acutely endangered. The funding programs that made them possible have either expired (DAAD) or are unlikely to be continued (QIO). One thing is certain: providing access to people with a history of flight and migration is not a temporary project but a permanent responsibility for all universities.<\/p>\r\n<p>Art colleges serve as role models in a pluralistic society because social and cultural affiliations are negotiated through the arts. Unlike any other area of society, the arts allow marginalized and underrepresented groups to express themselves and take action. To honor the diversity and plurality of society, universities of the arts must ensure refugees can participate in the freedom of the arts and sciences.<\/p>\r\n<p>Defending a migration-inclusive society and safeguarding the right to education and participation must not fail due to scarce resources or practical constraints. Refugees, migrants, and those affected by racism and anti-Semitism should have a place at our universities. Furthermore, artistic universities must be and remain bastions of critical thinking and academic and artistic freedom. Engaging with diverse artistic perspectives is essential for the future of these institutions. In light of the societal shift to the right, we need permanent protective structures and programs to uphold democratic values.<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Structural anchoring<\/li>\r\n<li>Access to artistic
