When: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Where: Straße des 17. Juni 118, Auditorium
The Commission for Equal Opportunities (KfC) and the Diversity Officer at the University of the Arts (UdK) invited all students and staff to participate in an exciting exchange at the Diversity Discourse Space, which was part of the Future Day UdK2030. We hosted guests and talks that shared their experiences and perspectives from years of anti-discrimination work at UdK, as we critically reflected on the future with feedback, demands, and expectations from participants.
We regret to note that this exchange was held exclusively in German, and no translation into German Sign Language (DGS) was provided. However, participants were encouraged to bring their expectations, demands, and critiques to the discussion in English as well.
All Berlin universities are required by law to develop and implement a diversity strategy. Where does the UdK Berlin stand today on the path to becoming an open, diversity-sensitive university and how can we look to the future from here? To reflect on this question, the Commission for Equal Opportunities (KfC) and the Diversity Officer invited voices from the beginnings and current work on the topic of diversity.
